Rushing, everybody does it, some people don’t realise it, or they might realise it in the form of stress. Stress happens when it feels that there is necessity to panic. Biologically, stress comes from our fight or flight response; the need to either run away from said stressor or fight it. This response is triggered in the brain by the neurotransmitter acetycholine which triggers the release of a chemical called norepinephrine.
This chemical increases heart rate and blood pressure, controls focus and increases blood flow to the skeletal muscle and suppresses neuroinflammation. Which is great, in short doses. Our heart cannot take beating at an accelerated rate for long periods of time. Too much stress can result in health issues such as headaches or even physical illness, and in the long run can lead to migraines and heart disease and in cases heart attack.
Our stress comes from things like getting somewhere on time, doing way too much or even meeting deadlines. We push this stuff upon ourselves and we get stressed. In some ways it is a form of motivation, but only in short doses, because our body are not designed to take the stress of stress.
