Starting to Garden — Start Small « Health Now, Wealth Forever

Spread the love

I have a huge yard.  And while it would be fantastic for a large garden, it is pretty daunting right now. I really would love to start growing some of my own foods and herbs but have been looking at the size of the yard and thinking I have to start a large garden to do it.

My brother brought this book up for us to read, Grow Great Grub by Gayla Trail.  She gives awesome ideas on how to start container gardens,  smaller, less daunting approaches to fresh food.  She gives ideas on using things like buckets, old planters, old watering cans to start growing peppers, herbs, tomatoes and root vegetables.  She gives tips on soil, parasites and sunlight, this book is a wealth of information and I look forward to using it as a tool to start small but to think big when it comes to fresh foods.
